The host Champlain Saint-Lambert Cavaliers women’s soccer team took home the silver medal at this past week’s CCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship, as they lost a hard-fought gold medal game against conference rivals, les Aigles d’Ahutsic in front of a packed house at Seaway Park 3 in Saint-Lambert.
With this past season, the Cavaliers have qualified for four national championships since 2017 (2017, 2018, 2019, 2022), played in 3 gold medal games – all against Quebec teams from the RSEQ – and have taken home hardware in all of their appearances, with a tally of 1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal. It’s also the first time that Champlain has hosted the CCAA Women’s Soccer Nationals, adding it to the list of previous times that the college has hosted (2008 Men’s Basketball, 2012 Cross-Country Running, 2014 Women’s Basketball, and 2015 Men’s Soccer).
Championship All-Stars from the Cavaliers were Rosalie Stabile, Victoria Dupont, and Mariam Jama-Pelletier.
Congratulations to the team, coaches, and staff for a great final and championship, and thanks to all the volunteers who helped make it a memorable and remarkable event!
